12/30/2001 Entry: "Shopping & Wil"

<---------- Check out my cool new sweater. I made Zackery try it on, too.

One of the things I love about visiting my in-laws is that, when it comes to shopping (and a zillion other things), Kristina and I are so like-minded. I really wish we lived closer together. And I'm not just saying that because she may be reading this. :)

Yesterday afternoon we went to the Buffalo Exchange, which was chock full of those crazy Austin college kids. I've started to feel old just stepping in the place. I probably could have dropped a fair amount of cash there, but Kris wasn't impressed with the place, so we quickly moved on to our favourite store...

Electric Ladyland (aka Lucy in Disguise With Diamonds). Can I get an amen?!? Vintage clothing intermingling with costumes of every kind. The place just goes on and on and on. I bought a cute little mod dress with a matching scarf and the super awesome sweater I'm wearing in the picture at left. I love this sweater. I love it so much I'm probably going to forgo a coat for the rest of the winter so I can wear it.

I'm going to sound like such a dork saying this, but I got an email from Wil last night. Yes, Wil Wheaton - the only reason I ever tuned in to Star Trek: The Next Generation. I had dropped him a note about a movie he had done with John Schneider - The Curse. It got godawful reviews. Wil confirmed that it was worse than Showgirls, Episode 1, AND Titanic. Last night I was giddier than a prepubescent girl at an Nsync concert. Ok, not really. But it was definitely a big cheap thrill. Woo!

This afternoon Kris and I went to Ross (the mothership of cheap retail) and Ulta. We picked through everything. And I mean -everything-. My feet hurt. Tonight we made Long Island Iced Teas, ate pizza, and watched Evolution. (Yummy David Duchovny.)

Aaaaaaand... I'm spent.
