05/02/2002 Entry: "random shtuff / mj toothbrush"

Random shtuff:

I read the first Harry Potter book while I was gone. It was pretty damn good. I don't know why Xtians are getting their panties in a wad over it, though. Maybe too many of them recognize themselves in the Dursleys.

Photoshop 7 is NEAT. Ultra-cool neat. I'm talking rawkstar neat, ok? Run (!) don't walk, to your nearest store (favourite warez site) and buy (download) it today!

My mom stopped at girl at NM Tech and asked her what the "Abercrombie & Fitch" on her t-shirt stood for. She thought it had something to do with the stock market. Mom isn't very hip, bless her heart.

The traffic in DC/Maryland/Northern Virginia is AWFUL. I'm *so* glad that Z and I didn't move up there. I spent almost five hours stuck in bumper to bumper rush hour traffic on a Friday afternoon trying to get from Aberdeen, MD, to Fredricksburg, VA. NEVER AGAIN. I had to stand on my clutch the entire way. Second gear to third and back to second. My left thigh was aching for days afterward. And the stupid rubberneckers in mini-vans kept slowing me down because they'd roll along right beside me so they could gawk at the Meerkat. Soooo many times I wanted to just push them out of my way so I could change lanes. I repeat... NEVER AGAIN.

I think the two most popular franchises are Subway and Days Inn. I say this because I used both extensively while I was gone. You know how when you buy a new car you suddenly notice the same car everywhere? I'm now supersensitive to Subway and Days Inn signs. I think I'm going to have to be deprogrammed or something. Fudge.

While driving from NM to AZ I was in some of the worst winds / dust storm I've ever seen. I'm not kidding. One minute the sky would be completely blue and the mountains were clear. The next minute the sky and mountains were GONE. When it finally started to calm down a bit I kept seeing dust devils (aka sand cyclones) on the side of the road. It was kind of scary.

Zack and I have given up on the Kodak DX3700 digital camera. Yesterday we ordered a Nikon Coolpix 995. Woo! Can't wait to check it out. It arrives on Tuesday.

Here's a happy picture of Michael Jackson and Zack's toothbrush:

Ride 'em, cowboy.

More tomorrow, luvs. <3

There is something sexy about Michael Jackson Dolls and toothbrushes.

It's ART, man.
