07/12/2004 Entry: "Good & bad stuff about being pregnant."

Thanks for all the well-wishes, y'all. :) Everything is going well here.

Good stuff about being pregnant:

- Thinking up baby names, the more ridiculous the better, is a great road trip game.

- People offer all kinds of great & crazy advice. It's very entertaining.

- I get to buy motocross jerseys to wear as maternity shirts.

Bad stuff about being pregnant:

- The pre-natal vitamins make me feel sick. Doc gave me like seven different kinds of vitamin samples to try out. When I pick the one I like the best she'll write me a prescription for it. Blech.

- The doctor told me I'm not allowed to have rare or even medium-rare steak. It has to be well-done. What's the point of eating steak if it's not at least a little bloody??!?

- Wacky hormones. We went to see Dodgeball on July 4th and I started tearing up when Steve the Pirate returned at the end. WTF??

xo

oh yes and it only gets better... hehe... and dont forget to get some baby Converse for baby. Each one of mine had a pair when they were babies. They are cute really tiny! lol. Take Care! oh and...the meat thing was bad for me too, but I later found that I was not liking meat during my pregnancy. I just drank lots of OJ though.

In a fit of nerdliness, I ask you:
What do they load you up on in prenatal vitamins?

this will probably progress into everyone listing their favorite baby names and if it doesn't....meah oh well i shall tell my favorites anyway because i'm a dork. my favorite for a girl is Amelia Willow and for a boy Gabriel Augustus. whoo i'm weird.

I remember my wife taking some prenatal vitamins that smelled like vanilla. I remember it because I used to huff the bottle.

Heh. Huffing prenatal vitamins! Hahahah!

Yeah, picking out names was probably one of the most entertaining part of the pregnancy for me. My husband wanted to name our little girl D'Luna. Uh... sounds like a cat, or a circus act. Yeah, she didn't end up with that name.

Motocross jerseys as maternity shirts! You rock!

Have fun!

I was tearing up at that point as well - but I'm not pregnant. It simply shows the power of a beautiful celluloid moment...

Heh. Vanilla vitamins. That sounds like the ones I took when I was pregnant. All three times the ONLY vitamins I could take without getting horribly sick were Prenate Ultra. Good luck in finding you some that don't make you sick. One time I got such bad stomach cramps and gas it felt like I was going into labor from trying a new brand of vitamins. If your doctor didn't give you a sample of those, ask to try them. They are awesome. Oh, and congrats!!
